In 2024 it expanded into a new sustainable facility to meet growing demand and continue its strong community focus. The brewery is known for bold, hop-forward beers such as Southville Hop and rich, full-bodied stouts. Social impact is central to BBF’s mission, with projects like “Brewed to Give” supporting local mental-health charities. Committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040, the brewery blends quality brewing with purpose. Its North Street taproom remains a cornerstone of Bristol’s vibrant beer scene.

Good Chemistry Brewing
Good Chemistry Brewing was founded by Bob Cary and Kelly Sidgwick in East Bristol and has built a strong, community-driven reputation across the city. Operating from a taproom and can shop in St Philips, they brew on-site and focus on both classic and experimental beer styles—from tropical pale ales and crisp saisons to rich, malty stouts. Their ethos emphasises sustainability, inclusivity and collaboration, with the team working closely with other local businesses and hosting regular community events. Their taproom, opened in 2023, has become a lively local hub featuring live music, quizzes and street-food events. Hop Union continues to invest in new brewing technology and fermentation equipment, maintaining a focus on quality, flavour consistency, and community engagement across the Bristol region.

Left Handed Giant
The Left Handed story began in 2014 when home-brewer Rich Poole handed some beer to Bruce Gray and Jack Granger at Small Bar in Bristol—a modest start on a 200L kit behind the bar. Their own physical brewery operation kicked off in 2017. The flagship brewpub at Finzels Reach opened in June 2019, overlooking Bristol’s Floating Harbour. Left Handed Giant specialises in modern, progressive beers—especially hazy and New England style IPAs, pale ales, and sour beers. They also produce unfiltered lagers and sessionable beers at their taproom site. The brewery is community-owned, aiming for employee ownership, and produces around 4,000 hl annually.

Lost and Grounded Brewers
Lost and Grounded Brewers was established in 2016 by Alex Troncoso and Annie Clements. The brewery combines German precision with Belgian creativity, specialising in lagers and Belgian-inspired ales. Their flagship Keller Pils exemplifies their clean, balanced approach to brewing. Using state-of-the-art equipment and an in-house lactic acid propagation system, they fine-tune each beer’s acidity and mouthfeel. All beers are unfiltered and vegan-friendly. The brewery is a Living Wage employer, committed to inclusivity and sustainability. Their dedication to technical excellence has earned national and international recognition, including awards for Keller Pils and Running with Sceptres.
